Brian L. Myers

Brian is a “transition expert” in guiding Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) firms to a BIM environment.  For the past 21 years Brian has served in various roles within A/E firms, which included BIM and CAD management, residential design, project management, IT management, and various design/drafting tasks. Brian graduated from Southern Illinois University with a B.S. in Advanced Technical Studies for Architecture.  His current role as Sr. Application Engineer for Seiler Instrument takes him across the Mid-West for various implementation projects and training classes.

Highlights

• Managed 2D to 3D conversion for several large and diverse design firms, including: LGA, Schneider Electric, Guarantee Electric, Rockhill Mechanical, Solutions AEC,  Tarlton Construction, Paric Construction and numerous architecture and interiors groups.

• Instruction of Revit Architecture®, MEP & Structure, AutoCAD®, AutoCAD® Architecture, Navisworks® Manage, and Autodesk®3ds Max® Design for hundreds of individuals in the  Mid-West.

• Managed AutoCAD Architecture to Revit Architecture conversion for Forum Studio as BIM Manager.

• Technical Writer for multiple articles in AUGI World magazine &  provided technical review for AutoCAD Architecture and Revit Architecture books.

• BIM Management, training, and point cloud data manipulation for AIA-STL Bevo Mill project.

• Residential Design & Construction Documentation for homes built in all 50 states, including CD's for over 300 homes in 8 communities in Missouri and Illinois.

• Part of architectural and engineering project teams involving projects for the Illinois State Fair Grounds, Illinois Department of Corrections, and NASA (Cape Canaveral,  Florida.)

• Proctor and Trainer for Seiler's Autodesk Training Center (ATC) and Certification programs.

• Closely involved in technology user group organizations, including twice president of the Gateway Autodesk User Group of St Louis and various projects for Autodesk User Group International. 

 

 

Jeff Bartels
Application Engineer
AutoCAD® Certified Professional
Civil 3D® Certified Associate

Jeff was most recently employed as a CAD Manager where he spent the last 10 years in a production environment.  He has extensive experience with AutoCAD® and Civil 3D®.  Like his brother Jerry who works for Autodesk®, he has been involved with CAD technology since the mid-1990’s.  Jeff holds an Associates Degree in Graphic Design from Elgin Community College.  He has a passion for teaching and has served as adjunct instructor for several AutoCAD® courses at local community colleges.  Jeff is also a contributor to several online training forums and blogs.

• Frequent author for AugiWorld Magazine

• Published author having produced 12 AutoCAD training titles for Lynda.com.

• 15 years experience producing civil engineering drawings and plan sets using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Land Desktop.

• Served as CAD manager responsible for setting/maintaining standards, software installation and training.

• Adjunct faculty member at Elgin Community College teaching Advanced AutoCAD classes for 13 years.

• Adjunct faculty member at Waubonsee Community College teaching civil engineering drafting using Civil 3D for 3 years.

• Frequent presenter at the Illinois Drafting Educator’s Association conferences.

• Successfully migrated WBK Engineering from Land Desktop to AutoCAD Civil 3D.

• Has  trained hundreds of people in AutoCAD and Civil 3D both on-site and in the classroom.

• Scored a perfect 100% on the AutoCAD professional certification exam. 

 


Helen (Holly) Urbain
Trimble Certified Trainer - Survey 

Holly is our resident expert in the field for Trimble® Survey GPS sales and technical support.  She is also a Certified Trimble Trainer for Hardware and Software.  Holly’s career started as part of a field survey crew for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation then over the years to crew chief, Survey Coordinator. Excelling in training, Holly took over the training and technical support statewide for WisDOT prior to coming on board with Seiler in 2001. 

Holly has her Associate’s Degree from Madison Area Technical College in Surveying.  She develops Survey and Mapping curriculum and presents on these topics throughout the year at conferences and seminars.

Highlights

• Trimble® Certified Trainer- Survey Real Time Kinematic and Trimble Survey Controller (TSC) with Trimble  Geomatics Office (TGO) and Trimble Business Center (TBC)   for Topo Stakeout Surveying .

• Trimble Certified Trainer- Total Station and TSC with TGO and TBC for Topo and Stakeout Surveying.

• Develop GPS and Conventional survey equipment presentations and custom training classes for Seiler Instrument. Includes are technical document for Survey Controller   procedures, Survey Pro and other software.

• Trimble Beta testing team for TBC software.

• Coordinates and develops Seiler training and user guides for Survey related interface with AutoCAD products. 

 


Jay Riester
Mapping Technical Support
Trimble Certified Trainer - TerraSync and Pathfinder Office

Jay has over 13 years experience in GPS, GIS and Photogrammetry.  He provides instructional training classes as well as technical support to our clients on Trimble GPS Mapping products.  Jay is also the primary contact for trouble shooting on software and hardware support contracts. 

Jay graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh with a Major in Geography.  He has extensive experience as a GPS Technician, GPS/GIS Production Supervisor, GPS Field Data Collector and Surveyors Assistant performing boundary surveys. Jay is a member of several organizations, such as ST. Louis GIS User Group, (APGA) American Public Garden Association as well as (ASPRS) American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing and (ILGISA) Illinois GIS Association. 

Highlights

• GPS data collection experience since 1996.  Collecting Asset Management data for cities, counties, DOT’s, Utilities throughout North America.

• Course Instruction Training to hundreds of students on Trimble Certified GPS, TerraSync and Pathfinder Office courses.

• Instructional training on how to use traditional RTK with TerraSync and utilizing your own base station and VRS data collection with cell phone technology.

• Hosted Trimble Mapping Webinars for Seiler paid support customers.

• Presented on Trimble Mapping Products at Seiler Tech days and State GIS conferences.
