| Civil 3D - Introduction to Styles, Points, Surfaces - 1 Day | Requirements: Students should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD® | Description: Students will learn the new interface of C3D. Students will understand the basics of the software and the difference between Land Desktop and Civil 3D. Students will learn about creating and importing points, description keys, Point Groups and will learn how to control points with Point Styles and Label Styles. Students will then learn how to create surfaces from imported point data and how to edit this data with break lines and the new Civil 3D editing tools. Finally students will dig into the surfaces styles and learn how to manipulate surfaces and alter their appearances to meet company standards. | |
| Civil 3D - Site Design - 1 Day | Students should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD® and have taken the course Civil 3D - Roads and Plan Production | Description: In this class we will cover creating Parcels and Lot objects from which we can generate Inverse Analysis’s, Map checks as well as Legal Descriptions. We will us the Feature Line and Grading tools to create a 3D model of our site which will not only allow us to tie out to the existing ground and calculate cut/fill volumes, but will aid us in determining run off and the Storm Sewer needs of the project. | |
| Civil 3D - Hydrology Tools - 1 Day | Students should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Hydraulics & Hydrology principles and processes. | Description: This course will cover creating Pipe networks in AutoCAD Civil 3D including creating parts lists, laying out pipe networks, drawing network in profile, and using Civil 3D to adjust invert elevations. We will then export the data to the Hydraflow Storm Sewers extensions that are included with Civil 3D for further calculations and data manipulation. Once the network is fully calculated we will import the data back into Civil 3D to update our network in both plan and profile views. | |
| Map 3D - CAD to GIS Fundamentals - 1 Day | Requirements: Students should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and Hydraulics & Hydrology principles and processes | Description: Streamline workflows and maximize the value of Geospatial Data seamlessly from CAD to GIS. We will discuss methods for converting, accessing, and moving data between its native format and AutoCAD Map 3D 2010. Knowing the benefits and limitations of each process will help you decide which tools are best for a particular situation. The discussion will include Map Import and Export, FDO (Feature Data Objects) Data Connect, Bulk Copy and links to external databases. Files from a mapping-grade GPS collection project will be brought into AutoCAD Map 3D 2010 to show how it integrates with an existing GIS/CAD system. | |
